# Intake workflow

> Inputs, configuration checks, connections, and review for Intake.

**Purpose:** capture and clarify an incoming request so the next step has the right information.

**Inputs to check:** the actual request, customer identity, material or product references, requested quantities and units, and attachments the workflow is permitted to use.

**Configure and inspect:** open the available Intake workflow in Agents. Check the supported input channel and workflow controls before changing them; do not assume every inbox or uploaded document feeds Intake.

**Connections:** the input channel provides the request; source records support identification. A downstream quoting task needs a verified handoff, not an assumed one.

**Example:** a customer requests a material without specifying quantity. Capture the known details and flag the missing quantity rather than inventing it.

**Review:** check extracted fields against the original request. Follow any supported review step before a proposed downstream action proceeds.
