# MCP tools and account access

> Read live, disabled, preview, and unavailable status for your seller account.

## Read the Tools page

The status-aware **MCP → Tools** page checks the dedicated MCP service and your seller permissions. It includes business tools and supporting controls; its count can differ from an older sample catalog.

| Status | Meaning | What to do |
| - | - | - |
| **Live** | Registered on the MCP service and permitted for your account at the displayed check time. | Connect your AI application and verify the tool with a simple request. |
| **Disabled** | The service has not enabled the tool, or your account role lacks a required permission. | Read the reason beside the tool; ask your administrator or Plastics contact. |
| **Preview** | A workflow is not released for seller accounts. | Treat its examples as sample data. It cannot be activated by connecting an AI application. |
| **Status unavailable** | The service or account check could not be completed. | Refresh or contact support. This does not prove the tool is enabled or disabled. |

Use **Refresh status** after an access change. Status is refreshed periodically while the page is active. During a failed or pending refresh, previously checked tools are not presented as newly verified live tools.

**Live** describes registration and account permission. It does not confirm that your AI application has connected, that interactive UI works in that client, or that the tool's underlying data is available. Expanded examples are always labeled as samples.

## Provision seller access

There are separate access requirements:

1. **Seller account:** MCP must be enabled for the selected seller organization.
2. **Account role:** your active role must grant **MCP access** (`mcp:access`). Having an ordinary seller role alone is insufficient.
3. **Tool permissions:** each tool still requires its usual catalog, technical-data, stock, lead-time, document, or approval permissions.

Your administrator should grant only the permissions needed for your work. An account administrator can manage access without automatically receiving commercial data access.

The service rechecks membership, seller organization, MCP provisioning, and current role permissions on every authenticated request. Removing MCP access or a tool permission takes effect on subsequent requests; reconnecting does not restore revoked access.

## Connection settings

WorkOS handles sign-in and application consent. The Configuration page does not issue machine credentials, register redirect URLs, or generate client secrets. Any older credential or redirect controls shown in a preview are not a provisioning mechanism.

Buyer-specific prices, buyer quote changes, and RFQs remain previews for this release. Seller access does not select or impersonate a customer.
