# Create a test account

> Sign up on your own storefront so you can browse your catalog and see the buying experience your customers get.

Reaching your storefront is not the same as having an account on it. To see what your customers
see, browse the catalog, open product pages, and walk the buying flow, create an account on the
storefront itself.

**1. Choose Sign up / Login**

On your storefront, find **Sign up / Login** at the bottom left. There is also a **Sign Up**
option at the top right. Either one starts the same flow.

**2. Fill in the sign-up form**

Enter your first name, last name, email address, and a password. You can also use
**Continue with Google** or **Continue with Microsoft** instead.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Use a different email address from your Merchant Portal account. A single address cannot hold both.
> See [Get access](https://docs.plastics.com/merchant-portal/get-access.md).

## What to try once you are in

Walking these is the fastest way to see whether your catalog reads well to a buyer.

* Search the catalog and filter it the way a customer would
* Open a product and read the property table
* Ask the assistant a question about one of your materials
* Send yourself a request, then find it in the Merchant Portal under **Orders**

> [!NOTE]
>
> This is a customer account. It does not give you access to the Merchant Portal, and nothing you do
> with it changes your catalog.
