This page covers the account, team, and organization settings plastics.com actually supports.
plastics.com does not issue customer API keys, deliver webhooks, or offer notification preferences. For programmatic access, see the Integrations section.

Your profile

Open User Profile to manage your own details:
  • Basic information: name, email address, industry, and a short bio. If you signed in with a social or SSO identity, the email field is locked and must be changed with your identity provider.
  • Contact information: work phone and address.
  • Company information and billing address: shown for reference, edited on Organization Profile.
  • Preferences: your unit system, either Metric (SI) (MPa, °C, g/cm³, mm) or Imperial (US) (psi, °F, lb/ft³, in). This changes how property values are displayed, and it is the only personal preference the product stores.
  • Security: an embedded panel from the identity provider that backs plastics.com sign-in.

Sign-in and account security

Signing in creates a browser session managed by the identity provider. Passwords, connected identities, and any additional verification factors live in the Security panel on your profile, not in a plastics.com setting. When an account has a time-based one-time code factor enrolled, the sign-in flow adds a step asking for the current code from your authenticator app.

Inviting teammates

From Organization Profile, select Invite Users, then answer Are they part of your organization?
  • Yes: enter one or more email addresses. If you are an organization admin the invitation is sent immediately; if you are a member it is recorded as a request that an admin must approve before anything is sent.
  • No: they are invited to plastics.com and prompted to create their own organization. This is the only option if you signed in with a personal email address, because a personal account cannot be attached to an organization.
The Invites tab lists every invitation with its status: Pending Admin Approval, Approved, Accepted, Rejected, or Expired. Admins get Approve & Send and Reject on pending rows. Teammates invited this way join as Member; promote them afterwards with Change Role on the Users tab.

Roles

Five roles exist. Two belong to buying (“advisor”) organizations, two to selling (“merchant”) organizations, and one is reserved for plastics.com staff. The role picker only offers roles that match your organization type, and never offers the staff role. Changing a role or deactivating a user is limited to admins acting inside their own organization, and you cannot change or deactivate your own account.

Organization settings

Admins edit these on Organization Profile:
  • Name, description, logo, website, and the organization and billing addresses.
  • Business details: business type, EIN, annual sales, expected monthly spending, and year of establishment.
  • Purchasing options, for seller organizations.
  • The Users and Invites tabs described above.

Herman assistant controls

Seller organizations control two assistant settings that genuinely change buyer-facing behaviour. Discovery tools (Merchant → Agents → Product Discovery, admins only). Four independent switches, all on by default: Your catalog and knowledge base are always available to the assistant and cannot be switched off. Organization-only answers (Merchant → Knowledge Base). When this switch is on, the assistant answers and cites only from documents your organization uploaded, and not from the platform knowledge base. This restriction is applied during retrieval, not just in the interface.

Plans

Three plan names exist: Essentials, Growth, and Enterprise. Your plan is set by plastics.com, not from within your account, and it is visible on your organization’s billing card. On Essentials, the merchant workspace presents an upgrade prompt instead of the Analytics, Orders, and Pending Approvals pages, and marks those items with a padlock in the sidebar. It also hides bulk selection on the product and brand grids, brand editing, MSDS upload, the shipping-status column, and the Manage subscription button. Growth and Enterprise show the full merchant workspace.
Treat the plan as what the interface presents to your team, and talk to your account contact about what your agreement covers.
