MCP lets an AI application, such as ChatGPT or Claude, call permitted Plastics tools using your seller account. Access is currently limited to provisioned sellers. Connecting an application does not give it more access than your account already has.
The seller MCP trial is rolling out. A tool appearing in a sample catalog does not mean it is enabled. Use the account-specific status on the MCP page when available; an older page showing “13 tools exposed” is a design preview.

Start with your account

Ask your Plastics contact to enable MCP for your seller organization. Your administrator also needs to grant your account role MCP access, along with the usual permissions for the tools you need. Buyer accounts and customer links do not grant seller MCP access. Once provisioned, open MCP → Configuration in the merchant portal. Use the server URL verified for your account and sign in through WorkOS from your AI application.

What is in this release?

Seller tools cover catalog search, material details, comparisons, authorized documents, seller inventory, and document extraction where separately enabled and permitted. Some tools also provide interactive controls inside a supported AI application. Buyer pricing, buyer quote editing, and RFQ submission remain previews in this seller release. Sample prices, quantities, documents, and receipts are illustrative; they are not your account’s live data. The deployed service and your current permissions determine availability. Neither this guide nor a successful sign-in guarantees that every tool is enabled or that underlying data is available.
